Benjamin Joseph Goodman
Founder - 1837-1922
Architect, artist, sculptor, builder, Ben moved his practice to Baton Rouge from New Orleans in 1880 to rebuild the State Capitol after it burned during the Civil War. Many of his buildings and homes that survive are historical landmarks.

Robert Hart Goodman, Sr. - Son - 1896-1957
Bob, Sr. joined his father's firm in 1924. A charter member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and prominent Architect in Baton Rouge, Bob, Sr. was active in civic and public affairs. Many of the buildings and homes he designed are also historical landmarks.

Robert Hart Goodman, Jr. - Grandson - 1940
Bob Jr. attended LSU School of Architecture in the 60's and pioneered computer aided design in the 70's. Continuing tradition, he runs the everyday business of the firm, is Webmaster of this site, and designs selective buildings and homes in the Baton Rouge area.
Alan Goodman - Great-grandson


Alan Hart Goodman - Great-Grandson - 1970
Alan went to work with his father, Bob, Jr, in 1993 and graduated from LSU School of Architecture in 2002. He is now taking the architectural exams necessary to gain his professional license. His innate design talent and knowledge of computer tools will allow Alan to guide the family tradition into a new era.
